 Stacey Patton

Born in Montclair, New Jersey, in 1978. A scholarship student at the Lawrenceville Preparatory School, she went on to attend Johns Hopkins University and later New York University where she graduated with honors.

Patton is completing her Ph.D. in African American History at Rutgers University.

She has written for The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, New York Newsday, and Scholastic Magazine, and is the recipient of numerous journalism awards and academic honors.
