CAREER
Educator/Coach/Lecturer for over thirty years.
Coached White Plains High School, in White Plains, New York to the
New York State Group 4 girl’s basketball Championship in 1979. Has
taught Science, Health/Family Life Education and Physical Education
@ South Orange Middle School. Coaches the Columbia High School
Girls Basketball Team. She has garnered six Conference
Championships, four Essex County Championships, five State
Championships, and Tournament of Champions Finalists two times. Had
an 86 Home Game Win Streak. Have over 50 girls to receive
Basketball Scholarships.

Community Service Award; Served on the Bias Review Panel for the
SAT’s/Stanford 8; Newark Municipal Council Commendation; Served on
the Board of Directors for Lauryn Hill’s Refugee Project;
Congressional Recognition for Community Service; Star Ledger Coach
of the Year; News Record Coach of the Year; Head Coach for the Essex
County All Star Team; NJSIAA State Basketball Committee, Head Coach
North All Star Team; Frank McGuire Foundation Award (which was
accompanied by a $10,000.00 grant); Bennett College Phenomenal Woman
Award, First ever Head Coach for the Inaugural McDonalds All
American Girls Basketball Game @ Madison Square Garden; South Orange
Villager of the Month, MLK Beloved Community Award; New Jersey
“Apple for the Teacher” Award, Inducted into the New Jersey Coaches
Association Hall of Fame. Selected four times to “Who’s Who Among
American Teachers”

PERSONAL
Married to Lonnie Wright, former Denver Bronco
and Denver Rocket. First athlete to play two professional sports in
the same season. Three children and five grandchildren. Resides in
South Orange, New Jersey.
